London Staycation… off to the Tower.

One of my favorite staycation spots while I was on my break from work was the Tower of London. I had no idea how big it was having only ever seen the recognizable White Tower which is what gives the whole site it’s name. For me the places like the tower of London evoke the romance of medieval history and fantasy.

There are no Castles in Australia and as a fan of all things heroic fantasy seeing these kinds of sites around London is like full-filling a childhood fantasy. England is the birth place of my favorite Author David Gemmell and I could well imagine Druss the Legend holding his axe aloft as he strode the battlements.

The poppies around the castle made the site even more beautiful and a little bit surreal. Like a moat of blood, the artist is pointing out the bloody history of the British Isles. I can’t wait to explore even more sites like this in my new home.

Lovely photos of the field of blood/poppies to commemorate the dead of WW1. So pleased to see you’re getting out and about and exploring this wonderful city: you’ll have more than enough to keep you occupied, I’m sure! Enjoy the rest of your time off.

Awesome! Very cool place! I didn’t see this castle, I’ve only been to Windsor and Warwick.

    Peace <3
