Last week was my last week of work here in London and also my last week in my beautiful balcony room. I’ve moved in with a couple of BFF’s for my last two weeks in London before I head home to Melbourne.
It feels good now that work is finished. Although it’s been an intense 12 months here it feels good to reach the end and have achieved something. Many of the goals that I set for myself nearly two years ago have come to fruition and now I am looking forward to a break and spending some time focussing on myself again.
Some of you might say ‘but you’re always focused on yourself’. I guess that’s true but work has really taken over my entire life for the past 2 years and although I’m really pleased with my success my work/life balance has suffered badly. I think it’s part of the reason why i’ve dropped in and out of depressive episodes so often in the past year.
A change is as good as a holiday but this break is going to be both.
My happiness is very much tied to my physical fitness and health so I super keen to get back on the fitness band wagon. I also thrive on routine and simplicity so some time in the country with my Mum is going to be the prefect antidote to the intensity of the last few months.
I’m looking forward to my days being just about exercise, sleep, meditation and eating for a while. I’m also looking forward to spending time with my camera shooting my own stuff.
