I miss speedo weather but…

IMG_0104

I miss speedo weather but I just spent the last two days out in the English countryside and it was beautiful. The rolling hills and open fields reminded me so much of the the films and stories about ancient Europe, King Arthur and all the other tales that inspired my desire see England long before I was ever given the opportunity to come here.

As we headed east from London out in to the fields of yellow and green I was excited to see Stonehenge pass by. I was on my way to work so couldn’t stop but the excitement at being so close had my imagination racing. The history of this place is something that this Aussie boy has been yearning to experience. Barrows dot the countryside and old farmhouses and Pubs look just like the postcards I remember. It feels like everything is so close. I can’t wait to get a car and do some exploring of my own.

The cold weather is frustrating but it’s winter back home and wouldn’t be much different anyway. I think its my cold speaking more than anything on that point. Being out in the countryside filming cows and sheep was fun but it was hell on my cough and runny nose.

The hunt for a place to live goes on too. There are a few hurdles to jump first but right now I have had to expand the places where I am looking to include a few different suburbs along the train line for work. Hopefully something nice will come up soon.

Thats about it for the moment. Not much to report other than that. Hopefully next week will be far more interesting and i’ll be back to my usual naughty self.

Stonehenge is a long way west (not east) of London — in case anyone else is looking for it! I’m so pleased that you seem to have got rid of your horrid cold, and are enjoying the English countryside. Sorry about the wind and rain…
