For those of you who need some inspiration for the week to come, meet Brian.
I often get letters from blog readers thanking me for sharing my life and my experiences. I love to hear your stories and every now and then I get an email or a message from a blog reader which inspires me.
I recently got a message from Brian on Instagram. Brian wanted me to know that the blog had inspired him to lose weight, so far he has lost over 50lbs. Brian says that he still has some way to go before reaching his goal but I think you will all agree that what he has achieved so far is pretty awesome.
It’s exciting to know that my writing is inspiring people to make positive changes in their lives, but to me the most inspiring stories are ones like these. It’s people who have the courage to take something that they are unhappy about and change it that really keep me going.
Only you can make the decision to make a change in your life. No matter how much I write or share it’s you guys who actually commit to making the change.
At the risk of sounding like a wanker, it’s easier to hit the gym when you’re already fit. It’s easier because you feel less out of place. I still struggle at the gym some days. There is nothing that brings my self image crashing back to earth faster than a hot guy smashing it at the gym in front of me, but I don’t have to struggle with the same body and confidence issues that somebody who is overweight might feel when they walk in to a room full of pumped up gym bunnies.
How many of us have had a giggle at an unfit person jogging or running or working out? Yet they are the ones who are showing all the traits that we admire so much, determination, courage and commitment.
So well done Brian for making a change in your life for the better. Well done on seeing it through and showing us all your inner power. You are an inspiration for all of us and I hope you will continue to share your journey.
