Gym progress.

so as you know I’ve been pushing pretty hard at the gym over the past month and a half and I’m really pleased with the progress I have made. I can see some real changes starting to happen and even the people around me are starting to notice the difference.

img_7381-2I’ve had a few people ask me for a progress update so I thought I’d post a quick update on what I am doing and what my workouts are like.

Firstly I have made a real effort to make sure that my diet has been as good as I can make it. Food has always been my weakness but I’m now having three protein shakes a day and as much protein as I can eat. Because I have increased my calorie intake I have also kept up with my 30 minutes of rowing at the end of each workout. It’s a fat burn so not quite as intense as a cardio session. To burn fat you want to be just breaking a sweat or working at about 60-70% of your capacity. The rowing also is helping to firm and tone my whole body.

So far I have gained 3kg and I’m currently 68kg. The heaviest I have ever been is 68.5kg so I’m hoping to break this by Christmas and finally hit my goal weight of 70kgs. To do that I’m going to be working on doing fewer reps with heavier weights. My goal physique is a toned lean bod with good proportion definition. I’m also focussing on improving my strength and over all flexibility.

One of the other common questions I get asked is about my skin. My skincare routine is pretty simple. I moisturise after every shower and pool session, drink at least 2 litres of water a day and very rarely drink sugary drinks. I also use an exfoliating body and face wash every day.
