Goldcoast here I am… eeek!

Okay guys have no fear I am still alive and living for the moment on the Goldcoast. It looks like I’ll be spending a lot of time here until July. As you know I had to come up here at very short notice but when opportunity knocks you just have to pick up and go.

I arrived last week to quite a lot of uncertainty. I wasn’t sure about where I was going to be living, how I would get to and from work and how long I would be up here for. The Goldcoast is treating me very well and the weather here has been amazing. It’s been hot sunshine and humid nights every day, I have even had to abandon my beloved jockstraps in favor of going commando because of the heat. At least it’s speedo weather and there is going to be lots of time to check out the beaches on the weekends, I drive past the Wet and Wild theme park everyday and I’m very tempted to enjoy a day on the water slides, who wants to come?

For the most part everybody here has been really friendly and helpful, I have even joined a gym and started doing my workouts again. I’m off to the UK again in early July and I want to make sure I’m fighting fit for that trip.

Work has settled down and the craziness of starting a new project has settled down a bit so I’ll be back to my regular blogging schedule very soon. I’m keen to continue some healthy eating posts and get moving on the Jockstrap challenges. I have been getting home every night and crashing on the couch before I can even climb in to bed, I think its the heat and the humidity that is sucking the energy out of me. First thing on my shopping list when I get paid is going to be a big fan.

I live nice and close to the beach and only a 50 minute drive from Brisbane. Some of my American colleges suggested that I could drive home to Melbourne for the weekends. I have included a map for you all. It always amazes me that people don’t realize just how big Australia is.
