I’m soooooo excited for Halloween. It’s costume time!

It’s almost time for one of my favourite holidays… Halloween.

I have always been a big kid at heart and Halloween is definitely the one event each year that makes me giddy as a schoolboy. As a Kid I always wondered what it would be like to have a truly awesome Halloween in the States. One day I’ll do WEHO for Halloween.

I remember going trick or treating up and down my street as a kid wearing a sheet on my head with the eyes cut out. Now I get to enjoy the holiday as an adult and I dare say it’s even more fun.

There is something about dressing in Halloween style that is just down right cool to me. Other events have their costumes or lack of, but Halloween is the one where we get to be really gorey. I guess it’s the boy in me that loves the fake blood and guts.

This Saturday I am going to get my fill of blood and guts for sure. The annual Zombie march is on through the streets of Melbourne and to say that this is an awesome fun time would be an understatement as literally thousands of people dressed as Zombies, Zombie hunters and all manner of Undead things shuffle their way through the city. Last year after the march had ended you could still see the bloody hand prints on cafe windows.

It’s a photographers dream!

I think growing up and feeling like an outsider was one of the reasons why Halloween was so attractive. Costumes were a great equaliser. It didn’t matter how uncomfortable I felt as soon as a mask and some fake blood went on I felt more able to relax than at any other time. If you had a cool costume then for one night you were cool too. We all wear our metaphorical masks in some fashion. As an adult I still wear mine, but the fun part is now where the costumes used to be about covering up, now they are about uncovering hehe.

So I guess you are wondering what I will be wearing. Well I have decided to do a variation on an old them. More scary than sexy this time but still with a good dose of shirtlessness. Hell it is still me after all. Watch out on Instagram and on the Facebook page for a few sneak peaks if you are lucky.

Here is a pic of me and some photos I took of last years Zombie March.

Halloween is my favorite time of year as well… Always has been. If you ever want to crash in my spare room and do the WEHO Halloween you are always welcome. I live just a few miles away from it.
